The huge Windows 7 cursor is a funny but annoying bug that happens if you run certain hardware. The Radeon HD 5800-series cards and Windows 7 appear to be affected by this huge cursor bug.

You have to download the latest ATI catalyst drivers and the hotfix 9.12:

Just to be safe, ATI also released a hotfix for Windows XP and Windows Vista.

A workaround to keep the cursor small is to start the Windows 7 Magnifier tool or to enable Mouse trails. Of course that’s not a longterm solution, that’s why you should install the hotfix asap.
